Şükriye Bilir
[email protected]Dr. Şükriye Bilir took her B.Sc. degree from Istanbul Technical University, Molecular Biology and Genetics department. Followingly, she achieved her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Osaka University in Japan. Her Ph.D. thesis was about the nuclear pore complex formation mechanisms during cell division under the supervision of Prof. Hiraoka and Prof. Haraguchi. During her postgraduate education, she developed a deep interest towards advanced high-resolution microscopy techniques. Her current research interests include revealing new RNA-protein interactions through high-resolution microscopy. She is interested in RNA metabolism especially on neurodegenerative and neuro-muscular diseases. Her lifetime aim is to be able to develop novel and simple techniques for the visualization of RNA molecules on living organisms which will help to understand the RNA metabolisms more thoroughly.
