Öztürk Lab/Tools

We extensively use advanced microscopy for fixed and live specimens as well as intravital imaging. Confocal, two – photon, spinning disc and light sheet microscopes are main systems we rely on. For micromanipulation and cell mechanics laser micro dissection and optical tweezers are our tools. Standard molecular and histological techniques, flow cytometry and FACS sorting are some of other methods we use. For omics studies we use LC-MS and NGS systems. We have a wide repertoire of transgenic animals and utilize gene transfections with plasmid and viral vectors. Electrophysiology including EEG, EMG and ECG and patch clamp are regularly used. We extensively utilize chemical and genetically encoded biosensors and optogenetics. Behavioural animal tests are also among our techniques.
