Our team has experience in many microsurgeries performed in mice such as focal cerebral ischemia induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and epilepsy. We generally use Laser Doppler flowmetry and Laser Speckle Imaging systems to evaluate cerebral microcirculation in real time. To understand neural activity and how it relates to specific behaviours or cognitive tasks after ischemic stroke we perform electroencephalography (EEG). In addition, electrocardiography (ECG) have been used to checks the hearts’ electrical activity. To mimic ischemia in mice, we perform oxygen-glucose deprivation method using primary or secondary cell lines. To investigate molecular mechanisims we used Western blot, immunofluorescence stainings, rt-PCR, ELISA and LS-MS/MS based proteomic analyses. We also use clarity, FACS, Patch-Clamp technique, and advanced microscopy methods in our in vivo and in vitro studies.
