Primary research areas of our laboratory are oxidative stress and oxidative stress-based disease models and drug development in wound healing. Our main areas of interest are investigating cell and tissue response to oxidative stress, repair mechanisms that provide regeneration and restoration of structure and function using in vivo, in vitro and molecular techniques, and working with possible chemical and natural molecules that will affect the processes and mechanisms of repair. In the light of evidence-based knowledge and experience gained from studies in phytotherapy and aromatherapy, the reflection of chemical compounds extracted from plants and essential and fixed oils to drug molecule research studies in oxidative stress models is among our areas of interest. Our projects in neurodegeneration, epilepsy, diabetes mellitus, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease are continuing with our two research assistants. In addition, our research in pharmacotherapy, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, clinical pharmacology, experimental pharmacology and toxicology continues with our fifteen PhD students and GETAT clinical application research with our two GETAT master’s students.
