Ilham Bahhar
Ilham Bahhar is received a BSc degree in Agricultural Biotechnology from Namik Kemal University. She studied the Effects of Colchicine and Kolsemidin on Cells Different Metaphase Periods. During this study, she had the opportunity to interact with academicians and gained skills to work with different cell line culture. Also she had the opportunity to work with Prof.Dr. Sezen Arat on animal cloning as well as embryonic stem cell culture. Besides during her summer internship at Universita Degli Studi Della Tuscia in Italy, she had the opportunity to practice on some projects works in the laboratory such as DNA extraction; Electrophoresis; PCR, RT PCR.During her master studies at graduate school of applied science, she initially studied the drug’s (thymoquinone) cytotoxic effect on healthy breast epithelium cell line by using MTT assay and Annexin V test. She had the opportunity to learn more about cell culture, cytotoxicity assays, and cell proliferation assay. During this period, she started to work as a scholarship student at TUBITAK Marmara research center, genetic engineering and biotechnology institute, and diagnostic technology laboratory. Where she was a part of a project research named ‘Development of Immunoreactive Trypsinogen (IRT) and Pancreatitis-Associated Protein (PAP) ELISA Kits for Early Diagnosis of Cystic fibrosis at Newborn Screenings’. Her task in this project was first the development, characterization, and purification of monoclonal and polyclonal antibody against Pancreatitis-Associated Protein and then the use of this antibodies in ELISA kits for diagnosis purpose. During the 3 years spent on TUBITAK, she had the opportunity to learn Hybridoma Technology, Immunization methods, ELISA, SDS-Page, Western Blot Methods, Antibody Purification Techniques and Recombinant technology using E. coli.
She have started a PhD degree in Microbiology at Medipol University. She is working on cancer immunology at Cancer Research Center of SABITA.
