Shazia Iqbal grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, and obtained her BS degree in chemistry from university of Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her Ph.D. on Organic Chemistry at HEJ Research institute of Chemistry (ICCBS), university of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan in April 2019. She worked on two key projects in her M.phil leading to Ph.D., in one, she developed synthetic strategies and prepared analogues of medicinally important scaffolds via regioselective copper catalyzed click reaction and their biological activity evaluation. In second project, she worked on the syntheses of structurally diverse electrophilic benzofused exo- and endocyclic acyl sultam scaffolds via reaction pairing CAP/CP strategies and in vitro reactivity profiling studies using both 19F- and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Her areas of research include development of synthetic strategies to make small molecules as lead compounds, drug design and discovery, as well as medicinal chemistry. She has got a wonderful experience during her PhD as a visiting research scholar at the University of Kansas, USA. Recently, joined as postdoctoral fellow in GRG lab at the Istanbul Medipol University.
