Assist. Prof. Özlem Güven
[email protected]Özlem Güven received her B.S. degree in Biology from Ankara University in 2003. She received her M.S. in Medical Microbiology at Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine and her research focused on the detection of antibiotic resistant bacteria and resistance mechanisms in clinical samples and microbiota of healthy individuals. She received her Ph.D. degree at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine where she worked with transplantation virology group and studied on BK Polyomavirus subtypes in renal transplant recipients. During her doctorate period she was accepted as a visiting researcher in Medical Microbiology Department at Maastricht University. She studied on the development of a method for rapid identification of Candida species in blood cultures.
Dr. Güven is currently holding a faculty position in the Department of Medical Microbiology in International School of Medicine. Her research interests are molecular microbiology and transplantation virology.
