Istanbul Medipol University’s SABITA has successfully installed a state-of-the-art multi-channel in vivo and in vitro extracellular electrophysiological recording system. This advanced setup is designed to analyze the dynamics of neural networks at single-cell resolution, enabling high-precision studies of electrophysiological processes. By recording the electrical activity of neurons in great detail, this system facilitates the electrophysiological characterization of various cognitive and behavioral processes.

The system provides an infrastructure for analyzing interactions between brain regions, investigating sensory processing and neuromodulation mechanisms, and studying the origins of neuropsychiatric, metabolic, and neurodegenerative disorders. It also supports the identification of potential new therapeutic targets through both in vivo and in vitro models.
