On November 10-11-12, 2021, training was held on operating the Bruker D2 phaser device and using the tool-related programs (TOPAS 6 and EVA 6). The training hold on a hybrid basis (simultaneous online for face-to-face and remotely connected personnel). The entire training was under record on the dec interface of the Microsoft Teams. A total of four doctoral students, three master’s students, and one doctor of science faculty member participated in the training. Researchers at the graduate level from different universities which cooperated also attended. The information about the training is as follows.
Purpose: Analyzing the phase information obtained as a result of X-Ray diffraction using the semi-quantitative method Rietveld analysis.
Conclusion:
• The principles of using the Bruker D2 phaser device and the procedures for preparing samples for the device are discussed.
• Theoretical information about the X-Ray diffraction method and Rietveld analysis is given to the researchers.
• The practical implementation of the TOPAS 6 program for Rietveld analysis is carried out by the participants under the supervision of experts.
• The database PDF 4 2021 is installed on the device used for analyses located in REMER and made available to its researchers.
