We at MODAS (Multi-Omics & Design and Analysis Studio) are excited to announce this month’s MODAS WS, titled Proteomics in Practice: Concepts, Workflow and Data Interpretation.
This workshop provides an overview of the fundamental concepts, applications, and methods of proteomic analysis, while introducing the workflow of modern proteomics with a focus on bottom-up shotgun proteomics. Participants will gain a general understanding of sample preparation, LC–MS/MS analysis, protein identification, and basic data interpretation. The session will also highlight how proteomic data can be transformed into biological insights through pathway and protein–protein interaction analyses.
We warmly invite faculty members, researchers, and students to join us for an interactive and engaging session.
The workshop will be delivered by Dr. Hayriye Ecem Yelkenci on February 20, 2026 at 2:30 PM. The session will take place in person.
Please complete the registration form to attend the workshop.

She received her B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Since 2019, she has been working as a researcher at Istanbul Medipol University–SABITA, and in 2025 she was promoted to senior researcher. Her work primarily focuses on shotgun bottom-up proteomics, encompassing the complete workflow of proteomic studies, including sample preprocessing, Q-TOF mass spectrometry operation and data acquisition, computational data processing using bioinformatics software, and comprehensive biostatistical analyses. She has applied these methodologies across a variety of biological matrices and pathological conditions, with a particular emphasis on neurodegenerative diseases. Through this work, she has gained substantial experience in both the generation and interpretation of large-scale proteomic datasets, contributing to the identification of disease-related molecular mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
