MODAS WS/ Proteomics in Practice: Design of Experiments (DOE)

The MODAS WS will be delivered by Elif Özbay on May 8, 2026 at 15:00 PM. The session will take place in person.

Please complete the registration form to attend the workshop.

Experimental studies in scientific fields often require the investigation of complex systems with multiple parameters. Design of Experiments (DOE) is an approach that facilitates the systematic planning of such studies, enabling the structured configuration of experimental groups and combinations of variables.

This workshop will address the fundamental principles of DOE within the context of scientific research, with a focus on constructing experimental designs, identifying critical factors, and analyzing interactions. It aims to equip participants with a more analytical perspective on planning complex experiments and to provide a practical framework through which they can adapt DOE methodologies to their own research.

Location: Istanbul Medipol University North Campus – Block A – 3rd Floor – Senate Room (on the right inside the Office of the Directorate of Student Affairs / Öğrenci İşleri Daire Başkanlığı)

Elif Özbay earned a B.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Istanbul Arel University and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Neuroscience at Istanbul Medipol University. Her research focused on the proteomic analysis of circadian rhythms following brain injury. Her areas of expertise include biomarker discovery using mass spectrometry–based shotgun, bottom-up, label-free, and DIA proteomics methods. She is currently working as a seniorresearcher in the Proteomics Department of the Systems Biology Laboratory at SABİTA andis a team member of MODAS at Istanbul Medipol University.
