Health Institutes of Türkiye (TUSEB) was established to serve our country and humanity in the field of health science and technologies, and to support planned and sustainable development. It follows a strategic plan in line with the objectives of meeting Turkey’s need for advanced technology and innovation in the field of health science and technologies, reducing foreign dependency, increasing and sustaining its competitiveness. It gives awards to scientists who work in line with these goals and work in the international arena.

2022 TUSEB Aziz Sancar Science, Service and Encouragement Awards, presented for the sixth time this year in the name of our Nobel Prize-winning Turkish scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz SANCAR, found their owners at the award ceremony held within the scope of 8th Turkish Medical World Congress of Organization of Turkish States and with the presence of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Our scientists who have important international studies in the field of health science and technologies and were deemed worthy of awards;

1. In recognition of his discoveries on DNA repair and circadian rhythm, 2022 TUSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award was presented to Koç University faculty member Prof. İbrahim Halil KAVAKLI.
2. 2022 TUSEB Service Award was presented to Marmara University faculty member Prof. Ahmet Oğuzhan ÖZEN for his international studies in the field of pediatric immunology and his discovery on CHAPLE syndrome.
3. 2022 TUSEB Special Award was presented to Erciyes University faculty member Prof. Aykut ÖZDARENDELI for the development of our first domestic and national Inactive COVID-19 vaccine, TURKOVAC.
4. Five scientists were deemed worthy of 2022 TUSEB Incentive Awards this year;

• Referring to his work in the field of regenerative medicine, Penn State and Çukurova University faculty member Prof. Ibrahim Tarik OZBOLAT,
• Referring to his studies in the field of innovative drug delivery systems and cancer diagnosis, Adnan Menderes University faculty member Prof. Ozge CEVIK,
• Referring to his studies in nanomaterials, optoelectronics and photonics, Koç University faculty member Assoc. Prof. Sedat NIZAMOGLU,
• Referring to his studies in nanobiotechnology and biosensor, Erciyes University faculty member Assoc. Prof. İsmail ÖÇSOY,
• Based on his studies in the fields of bioinformatics and artificial intelligence, Hacettepe University faculty member Assoc. Prof. Tunca DOGAN.
